The water treatment and wastewater treatment industries are the core pillars of modern urban infrastructure and environmental protection. In this field, the primary task of flow measurement is the precise allocation of water resources, trade settlement (Custody Transfer), and compliance with environmental protection regulations for discharge.

The working conditions in this industry vary greatly: ranging from precision drug dispensing pipelines of just a few millimeters to large-diameter water transmission main pipes several meters wide; from clean drinking water to complex sewage containing high concentrations of solid particles, fibers, and corrosive chemicals. Therefore, the core demands of this industry for flow meters are long-term stability, wide range ratio (Turndown Ratio), and excellent protection level (such as IP68 submersible type). Electromagnetic flowmeters, with their feature of no flow-blocking components, resistance to dirt and maintenance-free nature, have become the standard configuration in this industry; while in the measurement of non-conductive water quality (such as RO effluent), turbine flowmeters play an irreplaceable role.
