The Gas Turbine Flowmeter is a velocity-based flowmeter. Its core component is a turbine wheel with blades. When flowing gas drives the turbine to rotate at high speed, its rotational speed is proportional to the gas’s flow velocity (or mass flow). An embedded sensor (such as magnetic induction or Hall effect) detects the turbine’s rotation speed and converts it into a standard output signal. It offers advantages such as high measurement accuracy, good repeatability, fast response time, compact structure, and low pressure loss. It is widely used for metering and process control of clean gases like natural gas, air, nitrogen, and oxygen, and is particularly suitable for medium to high pressure and medium to large diameter applications.
